Introduction
============

Thank you for downloading Xeddy, a pure Java XML editor.

This document contains the installation instructions and notes for Xeddy
Standa Version 1.5, Build 055.


What's New
==========

 1) Templates are accesable without restarting the Xeddy.
 2) Better formating XML documents.


Installation
============

The installation package contains the following files:

1. Library Files
 - lib/Xeddy.jar         Xeddy Library
 - lib/Common.jar        Common Library 
 - lib/Xerces.jar        Xerces XML Parser
	
2. Help File
 - help/Help.jar         Xeddy Help
	
3. License File
 - licence/Licence.dat   Licensing Data
	
4. Launch Script and Text Files
 - Xeddy.bat             Launch Script
 - Xeddy-debug.bat       Launch Script
 - Licence.txt           License Agreement
 - Readme                This File

Please copy 'xeddysa.zip' into your home directory and unzip it. The 'Xeddy' directory is going to be created together with its subdirectories. 
Now you can locate and launch 'Xeddy.bat'.



System Requirements
===================

For running Xeddy 1.5 Standa you need to have:
 
* Java Virtual Machine(TM) 1.2 (or higher) installed
* MS Windows (95, 98, ME, NT, or 2000) installed
* At least 32MB of RAM
* At least 3MB of free disk space
* A color display with at least 256 colors


Known Bugs
==========

The parser hangs when trying to parse a special kind of incorrect XML documents. For example, when you create a document like this:

	<?xml version="1.0"?>
	<x

and the file ends directly after the "<x" symbol (i.e. no white space after it) then the parser will hang. Actually, it's not a bug of Xeddy -- you can verify this by parsing your document using the Xerces parser.
